Plaintiff says alcohol may be to blame for Orange County accident

After suffering multiple injuries in an auto collision, an Orange man has filed a suit against the car's driver and owner.

Plaintiff Darrell Loga filed a personal injury lawsuit against Jessie Ray Johnson and Angie Hubert in Orange County District Court on May 1.

According to the plaintiff's original petition, Loga was in a collision on June 5, 2006, with a vehicle driven by Johnson and owned by Hubert.

Loga says his multiple injuries were the result of the defendants' negligent acts.

Plaintiff alleges that Johnson was negligent because he was driving while under the influence of alcohol, failed to maintain control, keep proper lookout, operate the vehicle in a safe manner and other acts to be specified in trial.

Because the defendants' acts allegedly constitute gross negligence, the plaintiff says he is entitled to punitive damages.

Hubert is also negligent because she entrusted her vehicle to Johnson.

Loga is seeking medical expenses in the past and which he anticipates will continue for an undetermined length of time in the future, extreme physical pain, suffering and mental anguish that are probable for the rest of his life.

Matthew Willis of Provost Umphrey Law Firm is representing the plaintiff.

The case has been assigned to Judge Dennis Powell, Orange County 163rd District Court.
