The 2007 Southeast Texas Business Expo, sponsored by the Greater Beaumont and Greater Port Arthur Chambers of Commerce, is set for 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18 at the Beaumont Civic Center.

"In Southeast Texas, we mean business," Verna Rutherford, president of the Greater Port Arthur Chamber of Commerce, said. "It's a fantastic partnership with the two Chambers co-hosting the combined event. It's a win-win situation."

This is the fifth year that the Chambers have joined forces to present the business event in Southeast Texas. After holding their own events for many years, the Beaumont and Port Arthur Chambers first combined their business showcases in 2003. Now the event is the largest trade show in the area.

"We have a slogan," Jim Rich, president of the Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce, said. "We're all in it together. This is not just for Beaumont, but for the entire region."

The theme for the 2007 event is "Hollywood Style."

Plans are being made to include a hiring fair, celebrity fashion show, entertainment, after-hours mixer, door prizes, silent auction and more.

Booth reservations are currently being accepted.
