Fall in aisle leads to suit against Wal-Mart

ORANGE -- An Orange County resident has filed suit against Wal-Mart Supercenter after she slipped and fell in the aisle of the mega retailer.

Gwendolyn Jones filed her personal injury lawsuit against Wal-Mart on June 3 in the Orange County District Court.

According to her suit, Jones was shopping at the store when she slipped and fell while strolling down aisle 11.

The suit does not state what she slipped in or if the floor was even slippery.

The suit only says Wal-Mart is negligent, not giving any examples on the alleged acts of negligence.

"The occurrence in question was proximately caused by the negligence of defendant and caused severe personal injuries to plaintiff, which have resulted in monetary damages," the suit says.

Jones is suing for actual damages and attorneys' fees.

She is represented by attorney John Seale of the Seale, Stover & Bisbey law firm.

The case has been assigned to the 163rd Judicial District.
