Orange man wants couple's trailer moved off property

ORANGE -- Uninvited guests tax most people's patience. Guests who decide to park their trailer on someone else's property without permission would probably try everyone's patience.

In hopes of retaking his property, Billy Joe F. Smith Sr. has filed suit against James and Johnnie Lawson, claiming the couple unlawfully entered his property and parked their trailer next to a house owned by him.

Smith's suit was filed Aug. 18 in Orange County District Court.

In his suit, Smith says the Lawsons "dispossessed" of his real property on May 1. He has given the couple written notice to vacate but the couple has refused to leave.

"Defendants continue to withhold possession from plaintiff who is legally entitled to possession of the premises," the suit says.

The suit does not give any further details.

Smith is asking the court award him title and possession of the property, actual damages and attorneys' fees.

He is represented by Jerry Pennington.

The case has been assigned to Judge Dennis Powell, 163rd Judicial District.
