A total of 11 new lawsuits against insurance companies over hurricane damage claims were filed in Jefferson County District Court, March 1-5, 2010.

The following complaints were filed:

  • William and Patricia Bailey of 4810 Lufkin St. in Beaumont allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied their claim for roof and water damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Baileys will be represented by Paul A. Smith Jr. and Carlos E. Solis of Solis and Smith in San Antonio and by Danny R. Scott Jr. of the Law Office of Danny R. Scott Jr. in Beaumont.   • Willie Broussard of 2130 East 17th St. in Port Arthur alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied his claim for damages caused to his property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Broussard will be represented by Rocky Lawdermilk of Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: A186-158.

  • Jerry and Sharon Caples of 10948 Glen Oaks St. in Beaumont allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied their claim for roof, water, wind, contents and structural damages caused after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Caples will be represented by Gregory F. Cox of The Mostyn Law Firm in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: B186-173

  • Nelson Gerard of 1377 Schwarner St. in Beaumont alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied his claim for roof, water, wind, foundation and structural damages caused to his property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008.   • David and Mary Hornack of 810 Ascot Circle in Beaumont allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied their claim for roof, water, wind, contents and structural damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008.   • Altaf Mahamad of 8197 Old Voth Road in Beaumont alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied his claim for damages caused to his property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008.   • Lois F. Taylor of 3735 Ogden St. in Beaumont alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied her claim for roof and water damages caused to her property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008.
