LaMarque man sues Discount Tire when tire falls off

GALVESTON - Allen Teer accuses Discount Tire Company of Texas of improperly securing a tire on his sister's vehicle, which eventually led to a breakdown that injured him.

The suit was filed April 1 in Galveston County District Court.

Teer says that on Nov. 13, 2008, he went to the defendant's business in Galveston to retrieve his sister's car. On his way home, one of the tires fell off and caused an accident, the suit says.

Teer claims he was inflicted with serious personal injuries.

The suit ultimately faults the defendant for failing to properly train its employees on the proper way to mount a tire and failing to warn the plaintiff of the unsecured tire.

Consequently, Teer seeks compensation for physical pain and suffering, mental anguish and emotional distress, lost wages and medical expenses.

Houston attorney Marty Herring is representing the plaintiff.

The case has been assigned to Galveston County 405th District Court Judge Wayne Mallia.
