Two Orange County residents have filed suit against the driver who they say struck them as they traveled in Port Arthur.

Maria and Rocio Cardenas claim they were driving in the 8700 block of FM 347 in Port Arthur on July 2, 2009, when Ruby P. Rogers collided with them.

Because of the collision, the Cardenas sustained bodily injuries, incurred medical costs, experienced physical pain and mental anguish and experienced physical impairment, according to the complaint filed April 16 in Jefferson County District Court.

The Cardenas are seeking a judgment within the jurisdictional limits of Jefferson County District Court, plus pre- and post-judgment interest at the legal rate, costs and other relief to which they may be entitled.

John A. Carwile of The Law Offices of John A. Carwile will be representing them.

The case has been assigned to Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court.

Jefferson County District Court case number: A186-564.
