Vidor Man sues insurance agent for uncoverd leaky plumbing

Todd Lee is suing his Farmer's Insurance agent, Daniel Priest, for alleging neglecting to procure for him a policy for water damage.

The suit was filed May 12 in Orange County District Court.

Lee says in court papers that the lawsuit arises out of Priest's failure to procure an insurance policy that provided sufficient coverage for any release of water from above ground plumbing in the attic of his Vidor home.

He alleges that he has suffered more than $100,000 worth of damage to his home and personal belongings.

"As a result of defendant's nonaction, plaintiff was not sufficiently covered for the plumbing damage to his property," the suit states.

The suit does not say if Lee told Priest to secure the required insurance.

Under the Deceptive Trade Practices Act, Lee is suing for actual and consequential damages.

He is represented by attorney Kenneth Lewis of the Bush Lewis law firm.

The case has been assigned to Judge Pat Clark, 128th Judicial District.
