An Orange County residence is claiming that a dangerous and unmarked "obstruction" caused her to trip and fall while shopping at Walgreen's.
Mary Welsh filed suit against Walgreen Co. on May 20 in Orange County District Court.
According to her suit, on Feb. 20 Welsh was entering the 16th Street Walgreen's in Orange when she tripped over "an obstruction that was unmarked and very difficult to visually perceive."
The suit claims that Walgreen's and its employees should have known of the "dangerous condition and that there was a likelihood of someone being injured."
However, the suit does not state what the obstruction was or if other shoppers managed to avoid the hazardous condition.
Welsh claims she was permanently injured and is suing for past and future mental anguish, medical expenses and lost wages, plus all court costs.
The plaintiff is represented by attorney Christopher Smith of the Bush Lewis law firm.
The case has been assigned to Judge Dennis Powell, 163rd Judicial District.
