GALVESTON - Nemiah Wilson and Strike Hold LLC claim the Galveston Housing Authority failed to pay a year's worth of rent, deposits and any associated damages for an apartment the non-profit organization leased after Hurricane Ike.

The breach of contract lawsuit, filed June 21 in Galveston County Court No. 2, says the plaintiffs own real property in Galveston County and entered into an agreement with GHA in January 2009 to grant an apartment to a local resident through the defendant's Disaster Housing Assistance Program.

Through the terms of the contract, GHA agreed to pay for the leasehold premises.

Wilson and Strike Hold argue they received no payments when the tenant moved out.

In addition to violating the agreement in question, GHA is accused of statutory fraud.

The plaintiffs seek unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

They are represented by Doyle Raizner LLP.

Galveston County Court No. 2 Judge C.G. "Trey" Dibrell III is presiding over the case.
