A Jefferson County man claims a lumber company refuses to pay him for timber harvested on his property.
Richard LeBlanc filed a lawsuit July 9 in Jefferson County District Court against Robert C. Burrell, doing business as Bulldog Timber Company.
LeBlanc claims he authorized Burrell to harvest timber from his property near Sour Lake in exchange for a percentage of the gross sales of the timber.
"Defendant came onto Plaintiff's property and harvested a large number of trees and hauled pine and hardwood timber to various saw mills and timber processing plants in Hardin, Tyler and Polk Counties," the suit states. "Defendant has not paid anything to Plaintiff."
LeBlanc seeks actual, exemplary and Deceptive Trade Practices -- Consumer Protection Act damages, plus pre- and post-judgment interest, attorney's fees, costs and other relief the court deems just.
Thomas O. Moses of Beaumont will be representing him.
The case has been assigned to Judge Gary Sanderson, 60th District Court.
