A total of six new lawsuits against insurance companies over Hurricane Ike damage claims were filed in Jefferson County District Court, Aug. 2-6, 2010.

  • Suzanne Baker of 1640 Quail Run in Beaumont alleges State Farm Lloyds denied her claim for damages caused to her property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. State Farm denied her claim after it assigned adjustor Michael Gallier to investigate, according to the complaint. Baker will be represented by Gerald W. Eddins of Eddins and Bennett Law Firm in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: A187-482.

  • Laura Garcia of 6112 16th St. in Port Arthur alleges Fire Insurance Exchange denied a portion of her claim for dwelling and contents damages caused to her home after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Garcia will be represented by Rocky Lawdermilk of Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: B187-463.

  • Mike and Amanda Molley of 2618 Ave. E in Nederland allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied their claim for the total destruction of their home after Hurricane Ike lifted it off the piers on Sept. 13, 2008. The Molleys will be represented by Brandon P. Monk of The Monk Law Firm in Port Arthur. Jefferson County District Court case number: A187-467.

  • Eric and Zenobia Payne of 4300 Lakeshore Drive in Port Arthur allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association failed to properly and timely investigate and pay their claim for damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Paynes will be represented by E. Hart Green of Weller, Green, Toups and Terrell in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: E187-492.

  • Alfonso Vega of 3471 Seventh St. in Port Arthur alleges Fire Insurance Exchange did not timely or properly investigate his claim for damages caused to his property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Vega will be represented by E. Hart Green of Weller, Green, Toups and Terrell in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: E187-493.

  • Sheldon Williams of 670 Doucette St. in Beaumont alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association underpaid his claim for damages caused to his property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008.
