Latest Hurricane Ike-related insurance suits filed in Jefferson County

A total of 15 new lawsuits against insurance companies over hurricane damage claims were filed in Jefferson County, Sept. 6-10, 2010.

The following complaints were filed:

  • Langston Adams of 1240 West Ninth St. in Port Arthur alleges National Security Fire and Casualty Co. denied his claim for damages caused to his property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. National Security denied Adams' claim after it assigned defendant IAS Claims and adjuster Brady Snow to investigate, according to the complaint. Jefferson County District Court case number: E188-070.

  • Alamo Cleaners of 945 N. Main St. in Vidor allege USF Insurance Co. denied its claim for damages caused to its property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Alamo will be represented by Scott Renick of Beaumont and by Kenneth W. Lewis of Bush Lewis in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: A188-069.

  • Mike Aref, doing business as Mike's Enterprises, alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied his claim for damages caused to seven of his Port Arthur commercial properties. TWIA denied the claim after assigning GAB Robins North America and All Tech to investigate, according to the complaint. Aref will be represented by John Pat Parsons of the Lindsay Law Firm in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: B188-081.

  • Jeanette Atkins of 1925 Tulane St. in Beaumont alleges Horace Mann Lloyds denied her claim for damages caused to her property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Atkins will be represented by Rocky Lawdermilk of Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: D188-091.

  • Blanca Botello of 5231 Landry Drive in Port Arthur alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied her claim for damages caused to her property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Botello will be represented by Rocky Lawdermilk of Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: D188-093.

  • Howard Castille of 1330 Gladys St. in Beaumont alleges Horace Mann Lloyds denied his claim for dwelling and contents damages caused to his property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Castille will be represented by Rocky Lawdermilk of Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: E188-092.

  • Richard Ceja, doing business as El Dorado Sports Bar, of 6035 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in Beaumont alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied his claim for catastrophic damages caused to his property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Ceja will be represented by Patrick G. McGinnis of Gauthier, Houghtaling and Williams in Houston. Jefferson County District Court case number: A188-073.

  • Linda Crosby of 2996 Ave. C in Beaumont alleges National Security Fire and Casualty Co. denied her claim for damages caused to her property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. National Security denied Crosby's claim after it assigned IAS Claims Services, NCA Group and adjusters Jack Fielder and Joe Brennan to investigate. Crosby will be represented by John Pat Parsons of the Lindsay Law Firm in Beaumont. Jefferson County district Court case number: E188-080.

  • Leon Hall of 3136 Bolivar St. in Beaumont alleges State Farm Lloyds denied his claim for substantial damages caused to his property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. State Farm denied his claim after assigning State Farm Centralized Catastrophe Services and adjuster James Johnson to investigate, according to the complaint. Hall will be represented by John Pat Parsons of the Lindsay Law Firm in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: D188-079.

  • David Lee Kaiser, Sarah Piland, Francis Kaiser and James Kaiser of 7710 Sweetgum Lane in Beaumont allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied their claim for damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The plaintiffs will be represented by John Pat Parsons of the Lindsay Law Firm in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: D188-077.

  • Latosha A. Lewis of 5120 Allen Drive in Beaumont alleges National Lloyds Insurance Co. denied her claim for damages caused to her property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. National Lloyds denied her claim after it assigned Compass to investigate, according to the complaint. Lewis will be represented by Clint Brasher and Joe Muckleroy of Beaumont.   • Joseph and Novell Sigers of 2905 Amarillo St. in Beaumont allege Capitol County Mutual Fire Insurance Co. denied their claim for damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Capitol denied their claim after it hired ICA and adjuster Doug Browning to investigate, according to the complaint. The Sigers will be represented by John Pat Parsons of the Lindsay Law Firm in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: D188-082.

  • Brenda Tritico of 2734 S. Kitchen Drive in Port Neches alleges Geovera Specialty Insurance Co. denied her claim for damages caused to her property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Geovera denied the claim after hiring Geovera Specialty Insurance Services and Richard John Broom Jr. to investigate, according to the complaint. Tritico will be represented by Clint Brasher and Joe Muckleroy of Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: B188-074.

  • Larry Webb of Crystal Beach alleges Tinad, doing business as Gabourel Insurance Agency, denied his claim for damages caused to his car wash business after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Webb will be represented by David C. Wenholz of The Wenholz Law Firm in Austin and by Stuart C. Yoes of The Yoes Law Firm in Beaumont and by Ernest J. Browne Jr. of Browne and Browne in Beaumont.   • Francisco J. and Ana L. Zamora of 5128 Eighth St. in Port Arthur alleges Fire Insurance Exchange denied their claim for contents, roof, structural, water and wind damages caused to her property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Zamoras will be represented by J. Steve Mostyn and Stacy L. Little of The Mostyn Law Firm in Houston. Jefferson County District Court case number: B188-065.
