Wholesaler claims distributor failed to pay for $50K in merchandise

A Texas corporation has filed suit against a company that it claims failed to pay for more than $50,000 for services and goods it delivered.

Starco Impex, doing business as Wholesale Outlet, claims it shipped and delivered merchandise to defendant Walter M. Schmidt, doing business as Walt's Distributions.

However, both of the defendants have failed to pay Starco for the items they received, according to the complaints filed Nov. 3 in Jefferson County District Court.

Schmidt failed to pay $54,759.86 that it promised and agreed to pay, the suit states.
In addition to the money it says it is due, Starco is seeking pre- and post-judgment interest, costs and other relief the court deems just.

Chris Portner of Reaud, Morgan and Quinn in Beaumont will be representing it.

The case has been assigned to Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court.
