Business owner seeks TRO to stop man's alleged harassment

Parker

The owner of GP Industrial Contractors, Roosevelt Petry Jr., has filed a request for a temporary restraining order in hopes of stopping Port Arthur resident Shad Wise from harassing him, his employees and wife.

The petition was filed Dec. 10 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to petition, for several months now Wise has "persisted in calling and harassing" Petry and his employees, placing 35 phone calls to his business on May 28 in order to disrupt business.

Petry further alleges Wise has made violent phone calls to his wife at their home and has even showed up at his Port Arthur residence to make death threats.

The suit does not specifically state why Wise is targeting Petry.

"Plaintiff moves the court to issue a temporary restraining order ... against the defendant to avoid contact with plaintiff and to stop uttering harassing phone calls," the petition states.

Petry is represented by Port Arthur attorney Carl Parker.

Judge Gary Sanderson, 58th District Court, has been assigned to the case.
