Suit says driver following too closely

GALVESTON - A Galveston man is suing over an auto accident that allegedly took place in front of his Dickinson residence more than six months ago.

Ricky Glenn Kennon claims that Mark Anthony Villarreal hit the back of his vehicle on April 27 as he tried to pull into his driveway, a lawsuit filed Dec. 9 in Galveston County District Court says.

Court papers say Kennon and Villarreal were both traveling eastward on FM 517. Villarreal was "traveling close behind" when he then rear-ended the plaintiff, according to the original complaint.

The suit blames the defendant for failing to keep a proper lookout and control his speed. It also names Tina Meyers of El Paso as a defendant since it was reportedly her vehicle involved in the wreck.

Consequently, Kennon seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

He is represented by Roebuck, Thomas, Roebuck & Adams.

The case has been assigned to Galveston County 122nd District Court Judge John Ellisor.
