A bank has filed suit against the two Jefferson County residents who it claims owe more than $200,000 after they defaulted on loan payments.

Community Bank of Texas claims it lent defendants Donald and Matt Lumpkin a loan, but the Lumpkins have failed to make payments on it.

"The principal balance due Plaintiff ... is $225,832.59 with interest of $3,136.38 totaling $228,968.97 with a daily per diem of $40.77," the suit filed Dec. 13 in Jefferson County District Court states.

The bank alleges breach of contract against the Lumpkins.

In its complaint, in addition to the money it says it is owed, the bank is seeking pre- and post-judgment interest, attorney's fees, costs and other relief the court deems just.

John Pat Parson of the Lindsay Law Firm in Beaumont will be representing it.

The case has been assigned to Judge Gary Sanderson, 60th District Court.
