Woman says wreck caused physical pain and suffering

An Orange County woman blames a driver for causing her physical pain and suffering following a collision.

Sommer Billingsby filed a lawsuit Feb. 7 in Jefferson County District Court against Adam Rink.

Billingsby claims she and Rink were involved in a collision in Jefferson County District Court on Dec. 22, but does not specify where or how the accident occurred.

Because of the incident, Billingsby incurred medical costs, lost earnings and her earning capacity and experienced physical impairment, disfigurement and emotional distress, according to the complaint.

Billingsby blames Rink for causing the collision, saying he negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, drove too fast, failed to yield the right-of-way, lacked proper control and failed to timely apply his brakes.

In her complaint, Billingsby seeks a judgment in excess of the minimum jurisdictional limits of Jefferson County District Court, plus pre- and post-judgment interest, property damage, court costs and other relief the court deems just.

John Werner of Reaud, Morgan and Quinn in Beaumont will be representing her.

Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court, has been assigned to the case.
