RMQ substitutes counsel in personal injury suit against Entergy

The Beaumont law firm Reaud, Morgan and Quinn recently swapped two of its attorneys in a suit brought by William Duke, who sued Entergy Texas after a power line fell on his vehicle.

In April 2009, the Southeast Texas Record reported on Duke's suit, in which he claims he was sitting at a stop sign on July 2, 2007, when an Entergy line fell on top of his vehicle.

On Feb. 7, RMQ attorney Thomas Kienhoff filed a notice of substitution of counsel, requesting that he replace the withdrawing Trenton Bond, who is also a RMQ attorney.

The suit claims Entergy was negligent by failing to properly maintain the power line, by failing to properly secure the line and by failing to properly service the power line.

Duke claims he sustained physical pain and mental suffering, incurred medical expenses and experienced physical impairment because of the incident.

Duke is seeking a judgment in excess of the minimum jurisdictional limits of Jefferson County District Court, plus pre- and post-judgment interest, costs and other relief to which he may be entitled.

Judge Milton Shuffield of the 136th District Court is presiding over the case.

Case No. D183-699
