Area resident Camille Sykes is suing Beaumont local Aaron Holder, claiming the man rear-ended her while stuck in traffic on the interstate.
The suit was filed March 23 in Jefferson County District Court.
Court records show that on Jan. 26 Sykes was stopped for traffic in the eastbound lane of Interstate 10 when Holder "failed to control his speed and struck the rear of her vehicle."
"Defendant left the scene of the accident and eventually returned," the suit states.
The suit further alleges Nelson caused the collision by negligently failing to keep a proper lookout and failing to operate his vehicle in a safe manner.
The plaintiff is suing for her alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court, has been assigned to the case.
