A Beaumont woman claims she experienced physical pain and suffering after a driver failed to yield the right-of-way and struck her vehicle.
Dorothy Yentzen filed a lawsuit April 13 in Jefferson County District Court against Cheryl Ann Halleck.
Yentzen claims Halleck collided with her vehicle on July 15, causing Yentzen to incur medical costs and to lose earnings and her earning capacity. In addition, Yentzen experienced physical impairment, physical disfigurement and emotional distress and lost her ability to enjoy her normal life, according to the complaint.
Yentzen blames Halleck for causing the collision, saying she negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, drove too fast, failed to yield the right-of-way, lacked proper control of her vehicle and failed to timely apply her brakes.
In her complaint, Yentzen seeks a judgment in excess of the minimum jurisdictional limits of Jefferson County District Court, plus pre- and post-judgment interest, costs and other relief the court deems just.
John Werner of Reaud, Morgan and Quinn in Beaumont will be representing her.
Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court, has been assigned to the case.
