A Beaumont resident claims he suffered physical pain after a driver failed to control his speed, causing a collision.
Leo Boudreaux filed a lawsuit May 6 in Jefferson County District Court against Lott Contractors, the estate of Kevin McDonald and Enterprise Fleet Services.
Boudreaux claims he drove south on Fannett Road in Beaumont on Nov. 11, 2009, when McDonald, who drove a vehicle for Lott Contractors, failed to control his speed and struck Boudreaux.
Because of the collision, Boudreaux incurred medical costs and experienced physical pain, mental anguish, suffering, physical anguish and disfigurement, according to the complaint.
Boudreaux blames McDonald for causing the collision, saying he negligently failed to maintain a proper lookout, failed to timely apply his brakes and failed to control his speed.
He also names Lott Contractors as a defendant, saying it negligently entrusted its vehicle to McDonald, negligently hired McDonald and negligently retained McDonald.
In his complaint, Boudreaux seeks an unspecified judgment, plus interest at the legal rate, costs and other relief the court deems just.

Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court, has been assigned to the case.
