Rear-end collision results in suit

Beaumont resident Patti Minnard has filed suit against Silsbee resident Mohammed Jamil for allegedly rear ending her last December.

The suit was filed June 8 in Jefferson County District Court.

Court records show that on Dec. 1, 2010, both Minnard and Jamil were at the intersection Highway 364 and North Major Drive when Jamil struck Minnard's vehicle from the rear, pushing her into a truck in front of her.

The suit alleges Jamil negligently failed to keep a proper lookout and apply his brakes in a timely manner.

The plaintiff is suing for her alleged past and future mental anguish, medical expenses, impairment, lost wages and pain, plus all court costs.

They are represented by Beaumont attorney Mitchell Toups of the Weller, Green, Toups & Terrell.

Judge Gary Sanderson, 60th District Court, has been assigned to the case.
