Suit alleges left turn sent man flying off motorcycle

Tyler resident William Dinolfo has filed suit against Nederland local Alison Smith, alleging she struck his motorcycle while making a left turn last June.

The suit was filed June 13 in Jefferson County District Court.

Court records show that on June 8, 2010, Dinolfo was traveling westbound on Nederland Avenue while Smith was traveling east.

Allegedly, Smith failed to yield the right of way and turned left, colliding with Dinolfo and ejecting him from his motorcycle.

The suit accuses Smith of negligently failing to keep a proper lookout in addition to failing to yield the right of way.

The plaintiff is suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.

He is represented by Port Arthur attorney Jill Chatelain of McPherson, Hughes, Bradley, Wimberley, Steele & Chatelain.

Judge Gary Sanderson, 6oth District Court, has been assigned to the case.
