Farid Abusaleh, the owner of Fatima Shopping Center in Beaumont, has filed suit against Mustafa Foods, seeking to recover more than $200,000 in unpaid rent.

The suit was filed June 20 in Jefferson County District Court.

Court records show that Abusaleh and Mohammed Mustafa, owner of Mustafa Foods, entered into a leasing agreement on July 8, 2008.

However, Mustafa Foods has breached the terms of the commercial lease by not making the monthly rental payments.

The suit states that Mustafa Foods agreed to pay $3,600 for 60 months.

Abusaleh is suing to recover $216,000 in damages.

Port Arthur attorney Nathan Reynolds Jr. represents him.

Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court, has been assigned to the case.
