GALVESTON � Lisa Turner claims Daisy Salinas tried to force her out of a contract for a rental home in Galveston, recent court documents say.

According to a lawsuit filed June 27 in Galveston County Court at Law No. 3, Salinas disregarded Turner's intention to stay pursuant to her signed lease to the residence in the 7000 block of Youpon Drive.

Last December, both parties signed off on a lease which called for payment of $1,100 monthly rent for a term from Jan. 1, 2011, to Jan. 1, 2012, the suit states.

Turner then moved in only to discover that the stove and one bath did not work.

The defendant's agent and boyfriend, Adan Gonzalez, told the complainant that workers had poured concrete down the drain, the suit says.

The plaintiff insists that Salinas attempted to terminate the contract based on the advice of a local justice of the peace, who supposedly told the respondent she needed no reason to end the vacancy.

The original petition adds Salinas posted a "Notice to Terminate Vacancy" note on the subject property's door despite being paid the June rent and notified of Turner's decision not to break the lease.

Salinas and Gonzalez have harassed the complainant and her children as well as threatened to have the utilities cut off and a constable come to force them out of the home, Turner claims.

She seeks unspecified damages and is represented by attorney Norma Venso of Houston.

The case has been assigned to Galveston County Court at Law No. 3 Judge Christopher Dupuy.
