Two Beaumont families are in litigation over their children's automobile collision, which occurred two years ago.
Yashica Dill, on behalf of her minor child Deja Dill, filed suit against Valerie Jones, as next friend of minor Quinton Jamal Woods, on July 18 in Jefferson County District Court.
According to the lawsuit, on July 24, 2009, Deja Dill was a passenger in a vehicle being operated by woods.
They were traveling east on Edmonds Avenue when Woods lost control of the vehicle while making a turn and steered the vehicle into a ditch.
The suit alleges Jones should have never relinquished control of her vehicle to Woods.
The suit also faults Woods for negligently failing to obey traffic laws and maintain control of the vehicle.
The plaintiff is suing for Deja Dill's alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and all court costs.
Beaumont attorney Thomas Moses represents them.
Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court, has been assigned to the case.
