Man who already received worker's comp sues for injury

Although he already received worker's compensation, Adam Schisler is suing Flint Hills Resources for an injury he received while working at the company's premises.

The suit was filed Aug. 24 in Jefferson County District Court.

Court records show that sometime in July 2010 Schisler was employed by J.V. Industrial and working at the Flint Hills facility in Port Arthur when he was injured.

The suit does not state how Schisler was injured.

However, the suit does say Schisler received worker's comp and medical benefits following the incident.

In his suit, Schisler claims Flint Hills negligently failed to inspect its premises and remedy the dangerous condition.

The plaintiff is suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Beaumont attorney Adam Terrell of Weller, Green, Toups & Terrell represents him.

Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court, has been assigned to the case.
