Port Arthur resident Reginald LeBleu has filed a lawsuit against the city he resides in for injuries he received two years ago when a city employee rear-ended him.

The suit was filed Sept. 16 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on Oct. 14, 2009, LeBleu was traveling on 25th Street in Beaumont when a Port Arthur city employee, while in the course and scope of his employment, rear-ended his vehicle.

The suit alleges the employee was driving a dump truck and negligently caused the collision by failing to control his speed.

The plaintiff is suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Beaumont attorney Jonathan Juhan represents him.

Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court, has been assigned to the case.
