Improper turn blamed for Beaumont wreck

A Beaumont woman has filed suit against the driver who she claims turned at an unsafe time, slamming into her vehicle.

Dana Wilson claims she and her minor child, identified only as P. Graham, were traveling on Irving Street in Beaumont on Nov. 6, 2009, when defendant Casey Clark, who was driving a vehicle owned by defendant Jason Clark and insured by Michelle Clark, turned when it was not safe to do so.

When turning, Casey Clark struck Dana Wilson's vehicle, according to the complaint filed Sept. 30 in Jefferson County District Court.

Because of the collision, Wilson suffered from headaches and severe neck, back and shoulder pain, the suit states. In addition, she incurred medical costs and lost earnings and her earning capacity. She and Graham sustained physical impairment, physical pain and mental anguish because of the accident, the complaint says.

Wilson blames Casey Clark for causing the collision, saying she negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to timely apply her brakes and attempted to turn when it was not safe to do so.

In her complaint, Wilson is seeking an unspecified judgment, plus pre-judgment interest, costs and other relief the court deems just.

Jonathan C. Juhan and J.J. Bragg of Beaumont will be representing her.

The case has been assigned to Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court.
