GALVESTON - After sustaining injuries while riding a motorcycle about a year ago, Mary Connaly has filed a lawsuit against the motorcycle's driver and another motorist.
In court papers filed Oct. 11 in Galveston County District Court, Connaly says she and Larry Len George were involved in an accident with Selma Spurlock Etzel along Highway 6 on Nov. 6, 2010.
George drove a Harley Davidson motorcycle, with Connaly as his passenger, westbound on the highway when they struck a Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by Etzel, who was stopped facing southbound near the intersection of Tacquard, the original petition says.
"Selma Spurlock Etzel is thought to be the owner of the Ford F-150 she was driving at the time in question," the suit says.
"Larry Len George is thought to be the owner of the Harley Davidson motorcycle he was driving at the time in question and which the plaintiff was a passenger."
The plaintiff claims George and Etzel's negligence brought forth the collision in question.
Both respondents are blamed for failing to maintain a proper lookout, failing to make proper application of the brakes and operating their vehicles at an excessive rate of speed.
Consequently, Connaly sues for physical pain and suffering, mental anguish, disfigurement, impairment, loss of earnings and medical expenses.
A jury trial is requested.
The complainant is represented by Hagood, Neumann & Huckeba.
Galveston County 122nd District Court Judge John Ellisor is presiding over the case.
