Woman says driver ran red light, caused wreck

GALVESTON - Friendswood resident Jamie Hubbard has filed suit in response to a two-vehicle wreck.

A lawsuit filed Oct. 20 in Galveston County District Court says Alvin local Edward Krenek caused a collision with Hubbard along FM 528 on Oct. 1.

The original petition states that Krenek was operating a vehicle belonging to his employer T & L Environmental Services Inc. at the time of the wreck.

T & L joins Krenek as a defendant in the case.

Court papers allege Krenek ran a red light and crashed into the Hubbard's vehicle.

"As a result of the crash, the plaintiff was rendered unconscious for a period of time and was taken by Life Flight to the hospital," the original petition says.

It blames Krenek for failing to keep a proper lookout, failing to operate a motor vehicle at a speed greater than that allowed by law, failing to apply brakes, failing to stop at a traffic light and failing to enter an intersection only when he could have crossed without interference.

T & L is faulted for negligently entrusting one of their vehicles to Krenek.

Consequently, Hubbard and her husband seek unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

They are represented by Roebuck, Thomas, Roebuck & Adams.

The case has been assigned to Galveston County 212th District Court Judge Susan Criss.
