Seeking evidence related to his fall down a metal stairwell, Teddy Cloide Jr. has filed a petition to perpetuate testimony.

The petition, filed Nov. 4 in Jefferson County District Court, names respondents Total Petrochemical USA and Flour Daniel Services Corp.

According to the petition, on Feb. 2, 2010, Cloide was working in a metal stairwell at Total's facility in Port Arthur. He fell while coming down the stairwell, which was allegedly incomplete and defective, injuring his spine.

The petition states that Flour is believed to have been the general contractor and that also other companies may have been involved in the stairwell's construction.

"Petitioner seeks to investigate the circumstances and identify potentially culpable parties," the petition states. "Petitioner believes respondents has such information."

Cloide is represented by Curtis Leister, an attorney for the Reaud, Morgan & Quinn law firm in Beaumont.

Judge Gary Sanderson, 6oth District Court, is assigned to the case.
