The owner of a cow that allegedly attacked a China woman has answered the suit filed against him.
As previously reported, Linda Anderson filed her lawsuit against fellow China resident Harold Anderson on Aug. 31 in Jefferson County District Court. The suit does not say if the two are related.
On Nov. 9 Harold Anderson answered the suit, asserting a general denial and demanding strict proof.
According to the lawsuit, on May 23 Linda Anderson was on her way home when she encountered the cow. Allegedly, the animal rammed her vehicle and dented the driver's side.
When she got out of the car to check out the damage, the cow attacked her.
"Plaintiff suffered severe injuries as a result of this attack and was admitted to the hospital," the suit states, adding that Harold Anderson negligently allowed the incident to occur by failing to keep the cow from roaming the streets.
Linda Anderson is suing for punitive damages and her alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.
