The Jefferson County Bar Association Pro-Bono Program has announced that the 2012 Spindletop Spin will be held on June 2.
The bicycle ride begins at 6 a.m. at the Crockett Street Entertainment District in downtown Beaumont.
Registration is $30 for an individual, $40 for two and children or $25 for one and adult and children.
There are four routes to choose from: 100 miles, 53 miles, 27 miles and 16 miles. Families ride the 16-mile route only.
Riders planning to take the 100-mile route need to be through the turn at the rest tsop on Highway 105 in Sour Lake by 9:10 a.m. (30 miles into the ride.)
Rest stop are supplied with fruit, drinks and snacks. SAG wagons are available for the weary. The ride is fully supported with police, motorcycles and ride marshals along the route.
Approved helmets are required and the ride will take place rain or shine.
Lunch for participants will be served 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
All proceeds benefit the Jefferson County Bar Association Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to supporting educational programs for at-risk youth, providing representation to the indigent, promoting community understanding of the legal system and fostering the administration of justice.
