PERSONNEL FILE: Low receives outstanding alumnus award from UT Law

Attorney Gilbert I. "Buddy" Low received the University of Texas Law Alumni Association Outstanding Alumnus Award in April 20 ceremonies.

Low, senior partner at Orgain Bell & Tucker LLP in Beaumont, is a nationally recognized trial lawyer who handles major litigation in a wide range of issues with an emphasis on personal injury.

Other accolades include a listing in Best Lawyers in America as one of the best trial lawyers in the country, a peer rating as both best defense lawyer and best plaintiff's lawyer in Jefferson County and inclusion as one of the top 100 lawyers in the state in the "Texas Monthly" listings of "Texas Super Lawyers 2003" and "Texas Super Lawyers 2004."

Low was Texas Supreme Court Professional Ethics Committee chair for more than 25 years and now is Texas Supreme Court Advisory Committee vice-chair.

He is a former Jefferson County Bar Association president and a Fellow of the International Society of Barristers, the International Academy of Trial Lawyers and the American Board of Trial Advocates.
