Suit filed over rear-end collision

Alleging she was rear-ended while turning into a private drive, Beaumont resident Latoya Bridges has filed suit against Robert Scyrus, a Houston resident.

The suit was filed Dec. 27 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on Dec. 13, 2010, Bridges was turning right onto a private drive when Scyrus rear-ended her.

The suit claims the defendant negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, keep a safe distance between vehicles and apply his brakes in a timely manner.

The plaintiff is suing for her past and future mental anguish, lost wages, impairment and medical expenses, plus all court costs.

Beaumont attorney Ryan Scott represents the plaintiff.

Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court, is assigned to the case.
