Worker alleges scaffold fell on him, sues Brand Energy

Port Arthur resident Raul Giner is suing Brand Energy Solutions for injuries he received when a scaffold fell on him.

The suit was filed Jan. 17 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on May 28, 2010, Giner was a subcontractor working at Total's Port Arthur plant. While walking on the sidewalk to the parking lot, a scaffold erected by Brand Energy allegedly fell on him.

The suit accuses Brand Energy of negligently failing to erect and inspect the scaffold.

The plaintiff is suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Beaumont attorney Tommy Yeates of the Moore, Landrey law firm represents him.

Judge Gary Sanderson, 6oth District Court, is assigned to the case.
