A Hardin County woman has filed suit against the driver who she claims attempted to pass her on the shoulder of the road and collided with her vehicle.
Amy Ferguson claims she was driving on Interstate 10 on Feb. 8, 2010, when defendant Frank Grant, who was driving a vehicle owned by John Neves on the interstate, attempted to pass her on the shoulder of the interstate. While trying to make the pass, Grant slammed into Ferguson's vehicle, according to the complaint filed Dec. 21 in Jefferson County District Court.
Following the collision, Grant attempted to flee the scene, forcing several other vehicles off the road, the suit states.
Because of the incident, Ferguson claims she suffered from headaches and neck, back and shoulder pain. She also incurred medical costs, lost her earnings and her earning capacity and sustained physical impairment, physical pain and mental anguish, the complaint says.
Ferguson blames Grant for causing the collision, saying he drove recklessly.
She names Neves as a defendant because he lent his vehicle to a reckless and unfit driver, according to the complaint.
In her complaint, Ferguson seeks an unspecified judgment, plus pre-judgment interest, costs and other relief the court deems just.

The case has been assigned to Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court.
