Groves woman sues two over car wreck

A Groves woman has filed suit against the drivers who she claims caused a collision in which she sustained left hip and leg pain.

Kristine Brucia claims she was riding in a vehicle defendant Kelley Belleville was driving north on in Houston on Feb. 19, 2010. At the same time, defendant Maria Ventura was driving a vehicle insured by defendant Rigoberto Isidro south on Wayside Drive, according to the complaint filed Jan. 6 in Jefferson County District Court.

Belleville's and Ventura's vehicles entered an intersection at the same time, causing a collision, the suit states.

In addition to her pain, Brucia incurred medical costs, lost her earnings and her earning capacity and sustained physical impairment, physical pain and mental anguish, the complaint says.

Brucia blames Belleville and Ventura for causing the collision, saying they negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to timely apply their brakes and failed to control their speed.

Brucia also names Robert E. Belleville as a defendant, saying he insured the vehicle Kelley Belleville was driving at the time of the collision.

In her complaint, Brucia is seeking an unspecified judgment, plus pre-judgment interest, costs and other relief the court deems just.

Jonathan C. Juhan and J.J. Bragg of Beaumont will be representing her.

The case has been assigned to Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court.
