An agreed final judgment has been entered in an automobile collision suit against the city of Beaumont.
As previously reported, Port Arthur resident Mark Ramirez filed suit against the city on Feb. 16, 2011, in Jefferson County District Court, alleging a city employee backed into his vehicle.
A year later, on Feb. 24 Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court, signed of on an agreed final judgment, which states all matters in dispute have been compromised and settled, court papers say.
On July 15 a Docket Control Order was entered in the case, calling for the suit to be mediated on or before Feb. 29, 2012, or face an April trial.
Court records show that on March 10, 2009, Ramirez was traveling down Marina Road in Beaumont when city employee Isaiah Latchison backed a city vehicle into him.
The plaintiff was suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.
Beaumont attorney Jonathan Juhan represented him.
The city was represented by Senior Assistant City Attorney Quentin Price.
