Ally Financial sues to recover $46K on past due auto loan

Seeking to recover more than $46,000 on a past due auto loan, Ally Financial has filed suit against Nederland resident James Cronin.

The suit was filed Feb. 29 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on June 11, 2009, Cronin purchased a 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe from a Kansas City, MO dealership for $61,590.87.

Allegedly, he has failed to make his payments and is now in default. The remaining amount due is $46,206.63.

The suit faults Cronin with breach of contract.

Ally is suing to recover actual damages and also seeks foreclosure of its security interest in the vehicle.

Attorney Kimber Hartmann of the Dallas Law Firm Beasley, Hightower & Hartmann represents the lender.

Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court, is assigned to the case.
