Court tasked to decide ownership of Port Arthur home

By David Yates | Mar 7, 2012

Jose and Hilda Galvan have filed suit against Worden Milton, seeking to have the court declare them the legal owners of a Port Arthur home.

The suit was filed March 5 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, the Galvans moved into the house, located at 100 Trinity Ave., Port Arthur.

Since that time, the Galvans have paid all property taxes and have maintained the home and yard as a true owner would.

However, Milton is asserting a claim of the owner of record title, the suit states.

The plaintiffs are asking the court to declare them the legal owners and award them any relief to which they may be entitled.

Port Arthur attorney Antoine Freeman represents them.

Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court, is assigned to the case.

Case No. E192-048
