Salon sued for finger infection

Area resident Brenda Rogers is suing Tic Tac Day Spa and Salon, alleging her finger became infected following a manicure.

The suit was filed March 8 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on Feb. 16, 2011, Rogers received a manicure at the Dowlen Road salon.

"Following the manicure, plaintiff's left finger began to experience pain, redness and swelling which grew worse over time, spreading across her hand and up her arm," the suit states.

"By February 18, 2011, the infection had become so (bad that it) necessitated an emergency room visit and subsequent hospitalization."

The suit further alleges the defendant negligently failed to sanitize the items used in the manicure.

The plaintiff is suing for her alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Beaumont attorney Adam Terrell of the Weller, Green, Toups & Terrell law firm represents her.

Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court, is assigned to the case.
