A Jefferson County man has filed suit against the driver who he claims failed to yield the right-of-way at a stop sign and struck the vehicle in which he was riding.
Nolan Rashand Jones claims he was riding in a vehicle heading north in the 2500 block of Pennsylvania on March 12 when defendant Christopher Thomas Raven, who was driving west in 800 block of Colley, failed to yield the right-of-way at a stop sign and struck the vehicle in which Jones rode.
Because of the collision, Jones experienced physical pain, mental anguish and physical impairment and incurred medical costs, according to the complaint. In addition, he lost wages, the suit states.
Raven negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to timely apply his brakes, failed to swerve to avoid a collision, failed to drive in a reasonable manner, failed to control his speed and failed to yield the right-of-way, the complaint says.
Jones is seeking a judgment in excess of the minimum jurisdictional limits of Jefferson County District Court, plus pre- and post-judgment interest at the legal rate, costs and other relief the court deems just.
