Dugas

The Hardin County woman who was involved in a head-on collision says she sustained head, neck and back injuries during the accident.

Connie Harrington-Baker filed a lawsuit May 17 in Jefferson County District Court against Joyce Mitchell.

In her complaint, Harrington-Baker alleges she drove east on Highway 105 on March 20 when Mitchell, who was driving west on the same road, failed to drive in a single lane and struck Harrington-Baker's vehicle head-on.

In addition to her injuries, Harrington-Baker incurred medical costs; experienced mental anguish, physical pain, suffering and disability; and lost her earning capacity, according to the complaint. She also suffered physical impairment, the suit states.

Mitchell blames Harrington-Baker for causing the collision, saying she negligently drove too fast, failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to timely apply her brakes and failed to drive in a single lane.

In her complaint, Harrington-Baker is seeking actual damages, plus costs, pre- and post-judgment interest at the maximum rate allowed by law and other relief the court deems just.

Clay Dugas of Beaumont will be representing her.
