Two Beaumont residents have filed suit against the driver who they claim rear-ended their vehicle.
James Robinson Sr. and his minor son, James Robinson Jr., allege they were traveling on July 1, 2010, when defendant Crystal Guillory struck the back of their vehicle.
Because of the collision, the Robinsons incurred medical costs, experienced physical pain, suffering and mental anguish and lost wages and their earning capacities, according to the complaint filed May 29 in Jefferson County District Court. They also endured disfigurement and physical impairment and experienced property damage, the suit states.
Guillory negligently failed to control her speed, drove too fast, failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to keep a safe distance between her vehicle and the Robinsons, failed to swerve to avoid a collision, failed to bring the vehicle she was operating to a stop, failed to timely apply her brakes and drove carelessly, the complaint says.
In their complaint, the Robinsons are seeking actual damages, plus pre- and post-judgment interest at the highest legal rate, costs and other relief the court deems just.
They will be represented by Ryan C. Scott of The Scott Law Firm in Beaumont.
The case has been assigned to Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court.
