A construction company has filed suit against the owners of a Radio Shack in Groves, alleging they have failed to pay more than $14,000 for work the company performed.
D&R Commercial Construction Services claims it performed work for defendant Crossroads Partners, which owns the Radio Shack at 5090 Twin City Highway in Groves. However, Crossroads has refused to pay D&R for its services, according to the complaint filed June 7 in Jefferson County District Court.
"There is a principal balance due and owing to plaintiff from defendant in the amount of $14,196, and though often requested, Defendant has failed and refused, and still fails and refuses, to pay such amount, or any part thereof," the suit states.
In addition to the money it says it is owed, D&R is seeking pre- and post-judgment interest, attorney's fees and costs. It also seeks a judgment declaring that it has a lien on the property.
It will be represented by Bill Richey of Griffin and Matthews in Beaumont.
The case has been assigned to Judge Gary Sanderson, 60th District Court.
