Seeking to recover money paid to its insured, Nationwide Mutual Insurance, as subrogee of Jimmy Salanga, is suing James O'Neal for causing an automobile collision last December.
The suit was filed June 19 in Jefferson County District Court.
According to the lawsuit, on Dec. 28, 2011, O'Neal was traveling east on US Highway 73 in Port Arthur when he struck a vehicle driven by Salanga.
The suit accuses O'Neal of negligently failing to control his vehicle and speed.
Nationwide is suing for actual damages in the amount of $8,883.41, plus court costs.
Irving attorney Lisa Chastain represents the plaintiff.
Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court, is assigned to the case.
