A Jefferson County woman has filed suit against her employer, alleging it denied her from collecting the 1 percent compensation she was owed after securing a $150 million contract for the company.
Sheila Lindsey claims she was working for defendant Signature Industrial Services when she began negotiating with ExxonMobil Global Services Co. concerning a contract for certain maintenance services Signature could provide to ExxonMobil. Eventually, ExxonMobil agreed to the contract, worth $150 million, according to the complaint filed June 14 in Jefferson County District Court.
However, before the contract was finalized, Lindsey alleges she was removed from the project in an effort to keep her from receiving the 1 percent commission to which she claims she was entitled, according to the suit.
Since then, Lindsey has requested the money, but has not been paid, the suit states.
In her complaint, Lindsey is seeking a judgment for unspecified damages, plus attorney's fees, costs, pre- and post-judgment interest at the maximum rate allowed by law and other relief the court deems just.
Tommy L. Yeates of Moore Landrey in Beaumont will be representing her.
The case has been assigned to Judge Gary Sanderson, 60th District Court.
